“I read the obituaries every day just for the satisfaction of not seeing my name there.”
So says Barney Cashman, a middle-aged, married, and stuck-in-a-rut restaurateur who decides to have a romantic fling before life passes him by. On three different afternoons, he brings women to his mother's apartment. Behind plentiful laughs, Neil Simon's play "The Last of the Red Hot Lovers" is a tender story of a decent fellow who just can't succeed in sinning.
Tune in to Sun Sounds of Arizona for this Labor Day Special on
Monday, September 1 at 9:30am to meet Barney's potential paramours.
Special thanks to renowned Valley director Elayne Stein and her acting troupe (including Sun Sounds volunteer Dan Meiller as Barney Cashman) for recording their staged reading of this play for the Sun Sounds of Arizona audience.
