During Volunteer Appreciation Week in April several Sun Sounds volunteers were recognized for their years of service.
1-year recognition certificates were presented to: Flagstaff volunteers Pat Boomsma, Brenda Broussard, Tom Carpenter, Jim Dugan, Hope Gibbs, Joan Lewis, Kathy Mitchell, Gerald Nabours, and Paula Peterson; Tucson volunteers Melinda Coyne, Rick Felker, Kim F. Mathers, Michael Gavid, Katy Heck, Shaw Kinsley, Barbara Lewis, Connie Mack, Tom Mack, Stacy Newton, Don Phillips, Debbie Schaab, Joseph Siedel, Lisa Takessian, Amand Tasripin, Jamie Wagoner, Laura Weingartner, Russ Werner, Eric Zamarripa; and Tempe volunteers Sue Casey, Bonnie Cohen, Bob Diggs, Gordon Hilton, Anne Mihalek, Bob Neighbors, Charles Mort, Jennifer Nichols, Bruce Novkov, Julie VanLith, Kim Vandenberg, Jim Wilkinson, Michelle Fox, David Frens, Bonnie Lassen, Dave Mason, Mike Bryant, Maria Clavijo, Rob Davis, and Tammy McDaniel.
5-year certificates of recognition were presented to: Tucson volunteers Tony Amaud, James Barnett, Mark Dunn, August Johnson, Suzanne Slocum, Jack Trustman; Flagstaff volunteer Gina Harris; and Tempe volunteers Lisa Noble and Bob O'Laughlin.
10-year keychains were awarded to Flagstaff volunteer Jodi Griffith, Tucson volunteers Stacy Hayes, and Susanne Lasseter, and Tempe volunteers Sandra Clark, Roxana Maxwell, and Jeff Wine.
A 15-year paperweight was awarded to Tempe volunteers Jim Bigler, Pat Demlow, Liz Byrd, and Brad Byrd.
A 25-year award was bestowed upon Tempe volunteer Joanna Thompson.
And Donna Schober, a Tempe volunteer, was awarded a very special 30-year plaque of recognition for service to Sun Sounds for all of our 30 years of service.

Sun Sounds of Arizona, established in 1979, is a radio reading and information access service for people who cannot read print due to a disability. A community outreach service of Rio Salado College, Sun Sounds uses 500 volunteers across the state to provide information access free of charge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using special radios, designated cable systems, telephone and the internet.
