Delivery Formats

Sun Sounds of Arizona provides access to printed publications through three different systems:

  1. Sun Sounds Radio – a twenty-four hour broadcast of half-hour and hour-long audio programs that feature the reading of publications. Some programs are subject focused; featuring articles from several different publications like “ladies magazines” and others are specific publications, i.e. the reading of the Arizona Republic. Radio listeners have the advantages of easy technology and comfortable listening postures, as well as continuous companionship via the warm voices of volunteers who create the radio readings. 2. Sun Dial - a twenty-four-hour telephone and World Wide Web reading service that provides the individual seeking access to print with greater convenience and more personalized options. A registered Sun Dial user can search the web and listen to specific articles from national, regional and statewide newspapers at his or her convenience. The system features same day publications. It allows the user to select synthesized speech or Real Audio© sites and to access the Sun Sounds Radio broadcast. The user may increase or decrease the speed, skip forward or backward and even repeat articles. Sun Dial is the first system that allows a visually impaired person to use their touch tone telephone to navigate the World Wide Web and read text based publications and websites through their touch-tone telephone.Apply Now.

  3. Sun Sounds Online – a twenty-four hour feed of our radio broadcast via the Internet. This webcast provides access to all 124 audio programs produced and broadcast by Sun Sounds Radio to any individual who has Internet service and a PC that is equipped with a sound card.
